Christmas is Constructed!

Construction of this years 2008 display has begun at the New World Supermarket this week, dispite not being able to decorate for 2 days due to rain. Shay hope this weekend brings out the sun, as there isn't many more days to go to get the 08 display ready.

This year sees the biggest display, after seven years and 15,000 lights - Christmas has come to the Main Highway!

Preparations Underway for Christmas Display

This years 2008 Displays is set to be the biggest yet! While moving to the Main Highway is a big step forward, Shay has bigger plans for his 2009 display.

While secrets are kept wraps, Shay can devulge that the Official opening of the 2008 display will be at Otaki New World's Christmas club night, held this year on Thursday - December 11th, from 6pm.

Light Up Kapiti will soon be underway as well, with Shay entering the Business Category this year.

Kiharoa Christmas Updates!

It's another year and Christmas is just around the corner. This year, we have changed locations. Kiharoa Christmas has agreed with Otaki New World to host the display on the supermarkets site, on Main Highway, Otaki.

This is exciting for Shay Evans, the 19 year-old creator of the now 7 year old display. Shay started in 2001 with his first christmas display and in 2002 he won the best residential award for the Otaki area.

Since then another 15,000 or so lights have been added to his collection and he is excited to bring the lights up to the Main Highway, where they will be seen by hundreds of other passers-by this christmas season.
